Michael Hartig – is a founding partner of Capital Markets Advisors, bringing over 30 years of Capital Markets experience for a wide range of financial services institutions, including investment banks, private banks, mortgage companies, broker-dealers, asset managers, family offices, hedge funds, industry utilities and related service vendors. His applications experience has covered a broad spectrum of disciplines, including global securities trading, front and back office processing for buy and sell side firms, financial & tax reporting, exchange operations and systems and regulations, risk management, portfolio & partnership accounting and performance, investment banking, and database/data communications. Michael has assisted a wide range of independent, full-service and bank-owned broker dealers in the evaluation of custody and clearing alternatives as well as the implementation of a variety of service bureau and software package options for custody and clearing across a diverse mix of securities products. Michael has worked with major institutions to transform their custody and clearing capabilities through a variety of methods, including corporate acquisition, software development, service bureau implementation and a combination of integration strategies. Prior to his Big 4, IBM and Capco consulting experience for some of the leading global banks and broker/dealers over the last 15 years, Michael ran Capital Markets Technology for Paine Webber and was responsible for developing and implementing the firm’s trading, research, analytics and middle office processing systems, including all trading floor/exchange and related lending systems. He was also responsible for building their correspondent clearing and prime brokerage systems including securities lending. Michael has been an active participant on a number of industry committees for SIFMA, OCC and FIF.
